The Story of the Jewish Defense League |
bmerely facing a human judge, a man of flesh and blood who
bcould only put me into prison for a number of years or at the
bvery worst take from me my human life, I would still fear.
bHow much more so that I am now going to face the Judge of
bJudges, the Almighty.’
b“I am not happy being here, even though you are only a
bjudge of flesh and blood. I do not look forward to being put
bin prison, although that may very well be, but some day I will
bhave to face a second Judge and with him there will be, I
bbelieve, a great many souls. I believe those souls stand by His
bside and when every Jew comes, they have a question that
bthey pose to the soul that has just arrived, and that question
bis, ‘Where were you when we cried out?’ Those are the souls
bof the Jews of Eastern Europe’s Holocaust and they will be
bthe souls of the Jews of the USSR. I want to be able to say that
bI was there and I did what I could. I have tried to do what I
bcan and whether I go to prison or I do not, I am going to
bcontinue doing what I have to do and I only hope that the
bmembers of the Jewish Defense League and all Jews, no
bmatter what happens this morning, will do what they have to
bdo. Thank you.”
bAnd to all those who made the JDL story so glorious—
bthank you.
